"Be the Buffalo" was a video I did based off of the New York Times article: "Why You Procrastinate (It Has Nothing to do with Self-Control) by Charloette Lieberman. Growing up in Colorado, I learned the story of the buffalo: "Cows run away from the storm while the buffalo charges towards it- and gets through it quicker. Whenever I'm confronted with a tough challenge, I do not prolong the torment, I become the buffalo." - Wilma Mankiller
This project was extremely enjoyable as it allowed me to just have fun in design and simple illustrations with all the skills I have learned over the years in After Effects.
I had a professional voice actor do the voice acting after writing the script, and ensured to make the project about intense issues as fun and enjoyable as possible. I try to live my life by the Walt Whitman quote: "Be curious, not judgmental". I wanted to explore that concept with this piece as it is communicated with others.
